Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant to join our team at American Honda Motor Company. As an Accountant, you will support multiple business units within AHM, primarily focusing on fixed asset accounting, financial close, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, including SOX and International Financial Reporting Standards/US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. You will closely support various business units, manage projects, and perform capitalization processes, asset management activities, and monthly reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting multiple AHM business units for project management, capitalization processes, and asset management activities
• Collaborating with business units to understand and expand knowledge of fixed asset activities
• Preparing AHM close journal entries, department accruals, account analyses, and related deliverables
• Reviewing and entering leases into the lease management system
• Supporting budget/actual spending controls and analysis
• Participating in quarterly/annual financial audits, including SOX compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field
• 2 years of experience (college graduate)
• Accounting systems experience (SAP preferred)
• Microsoft Office skills
• Customer service mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Understanding of SOX and International Financial Reporting Standards/US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Fixed asset experience preferred
