Operations Manager

We are seeking an Operations Manager to support the day-to-day running of site operations at our Taunton facility.

The successful candidate will report to the Site Manager and oversee the processing of plastic, cans, and glass. They will work closely with various teams, including Safety, Engineering, Logistics, and Quality, to manage operational performance, compliance, and staff development across a 24/7 operation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and improving the safety culture, reducing incidents and accidents
• Overseeing operations at site, ensuring safe operation of all facilities in line with business needs and site permit
• Contributing to the achievement of P&L Budget for the year
• Monitoring performance against targets, identifying and addressing shortfalls, and recognising opportunities to improve
• Managing production-related tasks of moderate to high complexity

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing operations within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams
• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation, environmental compliance, and ISO standards
• Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and interpreting financial performance data
• Good knowledge of engineering, operational, and logistics functions, with a practical approach to problem solving
