Network Operations Technician (xAI / Starlink)

Job Overview

As a Network Operations Technician, you will operate the growing Starlink Network and the world's largest SuperCompute Datacenter Networks. You will respond to real-time network events, mitigate their impact, and work with engineers to resolve major issues.

Responsibilities

• Detect and triage anomalies on satellites, ground stations, and terrestrial networks
• Manage routine and emergency maintenance performed by SpaceX personnel and contractors
• Execute rapid incident response for major network disruptions
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve common network issues
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex escalations
• Measure, preserve, and improve the uptime and performance of the Starlink Network
• Follow and improve processes used for operating the Starlink Network

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 1+ year of professional experience in a network, IT, or security setting

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Ability to take on projects and develop new expertise
• Experience in mission-critical operations with attention to detail and communication
• Industry-recognized technical certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+, CCNA)
• Network troubleshooting using packet captures and device telemetry
• Familiarity with modern networking technologies (connectivity, switching, routing, network services, security)
• Knowledge of common consumer devices and customer interaction experience
• Debugging complex systems using data analysis
• Basic software experience in Python, SQL, Bash, or similar languages

Additional Requirements

• Availability for daytime on-shift rotations and weekends as needed

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $44,000 - $88,000 USD. The total rewards package includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, and other benefits.
