Description

The Role

Scientist I, Immune Evasion. Advancing Dyno's immune evasion capabilities by developing and executing innovative assay strategies that enable the discovery and clinical readiness of next-generation capsids.

Job Type: Full Time, onsite

How You Will Contribute

As a Scientist I, you will independently lead and evolve Dyno's high-throughput immune evasion assay platform, driving antibody evasion studies that support CNS and Muscle capsid discovery programs and partnering cross-functionally to shape experimental strategy and address technical gaps. You will also help expand the team's immune evasion capabilities beyond pre-existing antibodies to emerging clinical readiness challenges, including re-dosing, T-cell responses, complement activation, and innate immunity.

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute and support high-throughput immune evasion (IE) assays, including antibody neutralization and total antibody immunoprecipitation (tAb IP) workflows, to ensure uninterrupted support for CNS and Muscle capsid discovery programs.
  • Own the day-to-day operation, optimization, and troubleshooting of immune evasion assay platforms, iteratively refining workflows and developing new assay formats in response to evolving program needs and emerging data.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate immune evasion screening data to cross-functional stakeholders, helping inform capsid selection and discovery strategy.
  • Contribute to the expansion of Dyno's immune evasion capabilities beyond antibody neutralization by reviewing literature, proposing experimental approaches, and conducting feasibility studies related to re-dosing, T-cell responses, complement activation, and innate immunity.
  • Partner closely with Immune Evasion, CNS, Muscle, and in vivo teams to identify technical gaps, improve assay throughput and robustness, and accelerate progress toward clinically ready capsids.
  • Support the long-term development of internal immune evasion discovery capabilities, including high-throughput library cloning and production workflows, to increase team self-sufficiency and create additional bandwidth for receptor-targeted capsid discovery efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Immunology, Cell/Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline, with deep understanding of immune mechanisms relevant to gene therapy (e.g., humoral immunity, antigen presentation, immune cell activation).
  • Hands-on experience with immunological assays (e.g., immunoprecipitation, ELISA, neutralization, ELISPOT assays) and molecular biology techniques (qPCR, flow cytometry, NGS library prep, NGS-based experimental design).
  • Prior experience with antibody biology and/or adaptive immune responses (e.g., B-cell/T-cell biology, serology, neutralization mechanisms).
  • Strong experimental design skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex, multi-step assay workflows.
  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and translate findings into actionable experimental hypotheses.
  • Foundational knowledge of statistical methods for data analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Effective scientific communicator, able to present results clearly to both technical and cross-functional audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with in vivo models of immune response or experience interpreting in vivo immunogenicity data in the context of gene therapy or biologics.
  • Prior experience designing and working with high-throughput libraries (DNA/molecular) or large-scale screening workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis; comfort with large datasets from NGS or high-throughput screening.
  • Exposure to AAV biology, gene therapy, or viral vector engineering.
