Description

As a Physical Therapist on our Internal Travel Team, you will be utilised in multiple sites across the Midwest, including South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota. You will work in various settings, such as skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, outpatient, and mobility outpatient, with the flexibility to choose your scheduled hours.

Your primary responsibility will be to plan, organise, and deliver physical therapy programmes that help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities. You will conduct examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease, using tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards.

You will document client information for evaluation, establish therapeutic plans, and modify them if necessary. You will educate clients/patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans/schedules and self-exercises to be continued at home. You will also demonstrate knowledge of and utilise appropriate age-related treatments and evaluations relating to the needs of clients/patients/residents.

As a member of our team, you will be expected to participate in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health. You will interact with individuals outside of the department, including providers, case managers, third-party payers, public organisations, companies/contractual partners, and may be asked to supervise assistants, aides, and students as they provide client/patient/resident care, treatment, or other services.

Based on facility needs and assigned locations, you may focus on those receiving intervention in the post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
  • Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist
  • When applicable, may require valid driver's license
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required or within the first 60 days of employment
