Anduril's Space team is dedicated to expanding AI-powered capabilities into space, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own hardware design from concept generation to launch, balancing design maturity with program needs.
  • Apply first principles to simplify designs and make informed decisions.
  • Communicate system architecture pros and cons, focusing on robust design and packaging.
  • Lead subsystem design reviews, present status updates, and provide clear timelines and technical status.
  • Act as Responsible Engineer for subsystems, running analysis, visiting vendors, and defining hardware test plans.
  • Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful designs to flight hardware and low-rate production.
  • Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.
  • Create excellent technical documentation, including slide packages, test plans, and assembly instructions.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or higher degree in engineering or a hard science.
  • Experience in an immersive hands-on technical project.
  • CAD skills and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on fabrication and assembly skills.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals: heat transfer, statics, solid mechanics, materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to work autonomously.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience in a professional setting with space hardware or equivalent complexity.
  • Experience in NX/Teamcenter.
  • Experience integrating electronic components into mechanical designs.
  • Experience working with optical or RF systems.
  • Experience developing code in higher-level languages for analytical models and data acquisition.
  • Structural or thermal testing experience.
