Anduril's Space team is dedicated to expanding AI-powered capabilities into space, enhancing Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control for U.S. military and allied partners.
Responsibilities
- Own hardware design from concept generation to launch, balancing design maturity with program needs.
- Apply first principles to simplify designs and make informed decisions.
- Communicate system architecture pros and cons, focusing on robust design and packaging.
- Lead subsystem design reviews, present status updates, and provide clear timelines and technical status.
- Act as Responsible Engineer for subsystems, running analysis, visiting vendors, and defining hardware test plans.
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful designs to flight hardware and low-rate production.
- Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.
- Create excellent technical documentation, including slide packages, test plans, and assembly instructions.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher degree in engineering or a hard science.
- Experience in an immersive hands-on technical project.
- CAD skills and ability to create high-quality engineering drawings.
- Hands-on fabrication and assembly skills.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals: heat transfer, statics, solid mechanics, materials.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to work autonomously.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience in a professional setting with space hardware or equivalent complexity.
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter.
- Experience integrating electronic components into mechanical designs.
- Experience working with optical or RF systems.
- Experience developing code in higher-level languages for analytical models and data acquisition.
- Structural or thermal testing experience.
