Job Summary

As Director, Infrastructure Accounting, you will own the financial accounting lifecycle of CoreWeave's data center buildout, from construction through operation and eventual retirement.

Responsibilities

Construction-in-Progress (CIP) & Capital Project Accounting
  • Manage the end-to-end CIP accounting lifecycle for data center buildouts.
  • Maintain a project-level CIP ledger structure for real-time visibility into costs.
  • Apply capitalization criteria under ASC 360 and determine costs to be capitalized or expensed.
  • Coordinate with Construction and Operations teams on asset in-service dates and classifications.
  • Oversee interest capitalization on qualifying construction projects.
  • Monitor CIP balances for impairment indicators and escalate complex conclusions.
Asset Lifecycle Accounting , Reporting & Forecasting
  • Prepare and record depreciation journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Own depreciation reporting and forecasting across the data center PP&E portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
  • Partner with FP&A on capital expenditure forecasting and management reporting.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on the health and trajectory of CoreWeave's data center capital program.
Contractor, Vendor & Billing Management
  • Oversee accounting for contractor and vendor billings related to data center construction.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Legal on contract terms and billing milestones.
  • Design and operate controls around contractor billing review.
  • Manage construction retainage balances and accounting.
Technical Accounting Guidance & Policy
  • Serve as the operational subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP as applied to PP&E and capital projects.
  • Draft and review technical accounting memos and internal guidance.
  • Partner with the Senior Director on accounting matters related to construction and lease/VIE structures.
  • Maintain and update CoreWeave's internal accounting policies and procedures.
External Reporting & Audit Support
  • Support quarterly and annual SEC filings by preparing and reviewing PP&E and CIP disclosures.
  • Partner with external auditors on capital project accounting matters.
  • Maintain a robust audit trail across all active and completed capital projects.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, mentor, and manage a small team of infrastructure accounting professionals.
  • Design and implement SOX-compliant processes and controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and tooling.
  • Operate as a trusted accounting partner and advisor to various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years of progressive accounting experience in capital project accounting, construction accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP as applied to PP&E and capital projects.
  • Experience managing CIP accounting programs with high transaction volumes and complex billing structures.
  • Analytical skills for building and maintaining depreciation schedules and capital forecasting models.
  • Effective cross-functional partnership and communication skills.
  • Public company or SEC reporting experience.
  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with modern accounting systems and tooling.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
