Description
We are seeking a senior software engineer to join our team. As a senior software engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure back-end services that power our mission-critical applications and systems. You will collaborate with front-end engineers, robotics engineers, and other stakeholders to define service requirements and ensure seamless integration of back-end components. You will also be responsible for optimising system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions for efficient data flow and application responsiveness. You will contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualisation and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of distributed systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, with a solid academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. They will be proficient in back-end languages such as Go, Python, Java, Rust, or C++. They will also have experience in designing, implementing, and managing various data storage solutions and building efficient data processing pipelines. The candidate will have a proven track record of mastering complex systems and contributing effectively within sophisticated, distributed back-end systems and codebases.
The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure. The successful candidate will be driven by a desire to develop mission-critical back-end software that demonstrably supports vital operations and makes a significant real-world difference.
This role may require travel, but the extent of travel will vary by role. The salary range for this role is $191,000-$253,000 USD, with highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers.
