Microsoft AI are looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist at their Beijing office. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge data science, marketplace economics, and product innovation. You will leverage petabytes of advertising data to drive marketplace efficiency, advertiser success, and revenue growth across our platform, as well as journey.
About the Role
As part of the Live Marketplace Management team, you will define and optimize marketplace health metrics (e.g., supply-demand balance, auction dynamics, fill rates, match rates) to ensure efficiency and revenue protection. You will monitor and diagnose marketplace anomalies, identify root causes, and implement solutions to maintain stability and uncover growth opportunities. You will also design troubleshooting frameworks and explore AI-driven solutions to improve live marketplace operations.

The Candidate we're looking for
Experience:
- Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Master’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR equivalent experience.
Technical skills:
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and big data technologies.
Personal attributes:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient English communication oral or in written.
