Senior System Software Engineer, DRIVE OS - Linux and QNX

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to develop and productize its DRIVE OS software. As a member of the Solution Engineering team, you will adapt DRIVE OS solutions to various car platforms equipped with different sensors.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in Linux/QNX/Android operating systems, device driver development, virtualization, and ARM architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and enhance native/para-virtualized Linux/QNX device drivers
• Solve complex system issues on Linux/Android/QNX OS
• Lead architecture discussions for software components and interface with customers to support DRIVE software solutions
• Evolve and support requirements gathering and traceability flow
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to meet customer requirements and resolve complex issues
• Participate in architectural explorations, including feasibility studies, safety evaluations, and data analysis
• Perform performance tuning of customer use cases and functions on DRIVE OS software

Requirements:

• BS/MS or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of overall experience, with 4+ years in the automotive industry
• In-depth understanding of display software stacks on Android and/or Linux
• Experience with display drivers, including DP/HDMI output
• Strong understanding of QNX/Linux/Android operating systems and hands-on experience with QNX/Linux device driver development
• Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills
• In-depth understanding of ARM processor architecture fundamentals
• Background in embedded software development and product development lifecycle
• Exposure to functional safety architecture to meet ISO26262 standards is a plus
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Extensive experience developing/debugging complex device drivers on Linux/QNX OS
• Expertise in embedded system-level debugging, focusing on resolving complex performance bottlenecks and stress-related failures
