Description
At Epic Games, we're seeking an experienced Concept Outsource Lead to support and supervise creative content provided by outsource partners as part of our collaboration with Disney. As a key member of our Art & Animation team, you will work closely with individual Epic Art Leads and project Art Directors, Outsource Managers, and artists on the team to support external vendors. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate the creative direction and vision to vendors, ensuring that the art generated is consistent in tone and meets Epic's high standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with individual Epic Art Leads and project Art Directors, Outsource Managers, and artists on the team to support external vendors
- Communicating the creative direction and vision to vendors, ensuring that the art generated is consistent in tone and meets Epic's high standards
- Creating various concept designs for environments, character, and FX that exist within the Fortnite ecosystem
- Collecting or generating detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors
- Making any needed fixes to keep assets consistent and technically game-ready as they're handed off from the outsource partner
- Clearly communicating feedback to the outsource partner, and ensuring those creative notes and goals are met
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship in your portfolio, with a keen eye for anatomy, design, color theory, composition, and FX. You should have experience working on at least one AAA game in a Senior Concept Artist role, and be an effective communicator, collaborator, and problem-solver able to coordinate between internal and external teams and deliver clear and concise feedback.
