Bringing American manufactured capabilities to our warfighters is at the heart of Anduril's Mission. The Senior Director of Engineering for Compute will lead multiple initiatives to bring new classes of ruggedized, high-performance edge AI compute platforms to the fight.
Working with industry partners, you will identify USA differentiated components and sub-manufacturers that would enable the creation of a broad portfolio of mission-specific compute solutions that would enable various platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with industry vendors and partners to source and design cutting-edge AI compute architectures, board-level solutions, and integrated systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to design for our customers' requirements.
- Employing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to effectively define interfaces between various system components within the architecture, ensuring seamless integration and streamlined development processes.
- Developing system architectures that encompass all critical components and subsystems, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach.
- Defining key capabilities and performance requirements of the hardware system, ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry standards.
- Decomposing system functionality into modular components, enabling efficient design and development processes.
- Leading thorough evaluations and making informed recommendations regarding potential external technology partnerships or vendors, leveraging their expertise when necessary to expedite hardware development processes.
- Leading comprehensive technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, as well as supportability and effectiveness analyses.
- Leading functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to aid in translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Providing oversight in conducting testing and validation of hardware designs, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Driving the product lifecycle from prototype to LRIP to FRP.
Requirements include:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Computer Engineering, MBSE, Systems Engineering OR a Master's degree with 5 years of related professional/military experience.
- Previous experience working in hardware supply chain and manufacturing.
- Ability to set/manage customer and internal/external stakeholder expectations while also prioritizing key program initiatives (schedule, cost, quality, etc.).
- Strong understanding of various architecture frameworks (DoDAF, etc.), knowledge and understanding of interface control documents (ICDs).
- Experience with hardware verification, testing, and validation methodologies.
- Experience in data center server and/or personal computer manufacturing.
- Ability to obtain or have active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation.
Salary range: $254,000-$336,000 USD.
