We are seeking a Japanese language specialist to join our team in Montréal. As a key member of our localization team, you will work closely with our clients to ensure the highest quality translation of their games. Responsibilities: Translate a significant portion of the game's content into Japanese and become an expert in the tone, style, and terminology of the titles. Review all Japanese texts to achieve a global level of quality, ensuring complete consistency throughout the project. Create and continuously improve glossaries, manage terminology, and formulate recommendations for the Japanese language. Collaborate on-site with the client to provide linguistic advice and immediate feedback. Ensure quality assurance by performing and supervising quality control tasks, taking full responsibility for the final polish of the mandates, including correcting bugs reported by the testing teams. Suggest improvements to workflows to help the client achieve optimal translation quality and efficiency. Requirements: Native-level proficiency in Japanese Experience as a Japanese language specialist, ideally in the video game industry Familiarity with TAO tools, preferably MemoQ Academic background in linguistics, literature, or a related field Excellent oral and written communication skills in Japanese and English Passion for video games and knowledge of the interactive entertainment industry Ability to work independently as a single linguistic specialist in a fast-paced environment Valid work permit for Canada Benefits: 2 weeks of paid vacation per year 5 paid personal days per year Public transportation reimbursement (STM) Virtual healthcare service (Telus Health) Dialogue (Employee Assistance Program) On-site amenities, including drinks, coffee, fruits, ice cream, and more * Opportunity to transition to a full-time permanent position after successful completion of the one-year contract Note: Only selected candidates will be contacted due to the high volume of applications.
