Description

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world.

We're seeking a very specific candidate who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment.

Coinbase Canada seeks an Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Manager to join our Global Financial and Regulatory Reporting team.

This technical role involves maintaining IFRS books of account and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Tax, Treasury, Legal) to ensure capital adequacy.

You will drive operational excellence by designing scalable processes, building robust internal controls, and automating reporting cycles for a high-growth tech environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Coinbase Canada monthly management reporting and analytical review thereof, including reporting and communication to the Board.
  • Act as a contact point within the company for financial reporting queries and queries from regulatory authorities relating to the financial and regulatory reporting obligations of the firm.
  • Prepare and update various finance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and oversee the performance of outsourced services by outsourced service providers relating to the finance function and assess KPIs and SLAs.
  • Active in Coinbase Canada liquidity management and coordinating closely with the treasury team.
  • Participate in critical projects, including the transitioning to new external vendors, integration, automation or enhancements.
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years' experience as a regulatory reporting or finance professional at a bank, fin-tech, financial regulatory agency, securities dealer or investment dealer, and/or professional service firm serving financial institution clients.
  • 3+ years experience working in a regulated entity/environment, with direct involvement in the preparation or review of regulatory filings for a securities regulator (e.g., OSC, CIRO, IIROC, or equivalent).
  • Previous Board/senior management level experience, or demonstrated the ability to communicate directly to the Board/senior management.
  • CPA or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, with an emphasis on senior management and a track record of performing in a management role.

Project management experience is essential.

  • Excellent oral and written communication – fluency in English is a key requirement.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment within a high growth business.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with IFRS.

Expert knowledge of Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements, including NI 31-103, Form 31-103F1, and familiarity with CIRO capital adequacy rules, is highly preferred.
