SDV (Senior) Consultant Connectivity Expert

As a Senior Consultant Connectivity Expert, you will support OEMs and suppliers in building, developing, and industrializing modern connectivity and OTA architectures in the software-defined vehicle. You will combine deep technical understanding with conceptual strength and take responsibility along the entire product and system lifecycle.

Your tasks will include:

• Deriving, specifying, and evaluating technical requirements for vehicle offboard communication, focus on vehicle-to-backend/cloud connection, telematics, and connectivity architectures
• Designing and evaluating mobile phone, IP, and messaging-based communication solutions along the entire end-to-end chain (e.g., 4G/5G, LTE-M, 5G Advanced, IMS, TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP, CoAP)
• Designing secure communication and authentication mechanisms for vehicle fleets and backend connections (TLS mutual authentication, PKI-based trust models, VPN concepts, certificate, and key management)
• Conceptualizing and integrating eSIM/iSIM solutions, including remote SIM provisioning according to GSMA and 3GPP relevant specifications (SGP.22/SGP.32, multi-IMSI, profile lifecycle management, interaction with MNOs and connectivity platforms)
• Defining edge, backend, and cloud integrations, including API communication, data streams, telemetry, and event management for distributed vehicle fleets
• Analyzing, validating, and diagnosing complex communication and radio paths using professional network, protocol, and modem analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, TCPdump, packet captures, log/trace analyses, correlation-based error analysis using Elasticsearch/Kibana, and Qualcomm and MediaTek-based test and analysis tools)
• Evaluating and applying advanced connectivity and radio architectures such as software-defined networking (SDN), network slicing, software-defined radio (SDR), and hybrid mobile and satellite communication for global, resilient vehicle connections

To be well-prepared for your path as a Senior Consultant Connectivity Expert, you should have the following qualifications:

• Completed studies in communications and information technology, network/natural sciences, computer science/technical informatics (e.g., with a focus on cloud or IoT), electrical/vehicle engineering, or a comparable technically oriented course of study
• At least 4 years of experience in this field
• Passion for connectivity technologies and connected vehicles, as well as the further development of the software-defined vehicle along safe, scalable end-to-end architectures
• Fundament knowledge in mobile phone and communication systems in the vehicle environment, particularly vehicle-to-backend/cloud communication and telematics/connectivity architectures
• Expertise in modern security and authentication mechanisms, including mutual TLS, PKI-based trust models, automated certificate, and key management, as well as 5G-native authentication to secure vehicle and cloud architectures
