Power Electronics - Staff Electrical Engineer

We're looking for a Staff Power Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and delivery of high-performance power systems across our aircraft programs. This is a high-ownership role where you will define architectures, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that our power electronics meet the rigorous demands of autonomous aviation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning flight critical power sub-system design for X-BAT
• Designing power electronics for high voltage and low voltage systems, including inverters, DC-DC converters, battery management, and other power electronics
• Hardening designs for harsh environments such as shock/vibe, high reliability, radiation, and high-altitude
• Working on power sub-systems and designs for both low power (< kW) and high power (>10 kW)
• Full-cycle hardware development, including concept, modeling, worst case analysis, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, design reiteration for improving design maturity, testing and validation
• PCB ownership, driving PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers, optimizing for power density, EMI, thermal, and manufacturability
• Designing for Safety, Manufacturability and Reliability, keeping in mind best practices for safety, manufacturing and reliability
• Board Bring Up and Testing, executing board bring up, verification, validation and HALT testing to meet rigorous aerospace reliability standards
• Cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Supply Chain, Test Automation, Production and various aircraft teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Design review leadership, leading and contributing to cross-functional reviews ensuring robust, high-integrity engineering decisions. Mentoring junior engineers that support your design
• Program execution, managing project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones to drive on-time, high-quality outcomes
