Description

In this position, you will contribute to the development and implementation of Crankshafts and Gears manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in southeast Michigan and Ohio.

You will utilize machining process knowledge, particularly steel and iron metal cutting and grinding to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.

Responsibilities include leading equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants, as well as initiating bids, evaluating, and recap bids for equipment purchase.

You will work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues, and interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.

You will also support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis, and work with Industrial Engineers (IE) to assess and improve throughput.

Travel up to 100% to SE Michigan and Ohio Manufacturing Plants during equipment installation and launch.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience in gears or round parts, and ability to travel domestically - up to 50%.

Even better, you may have working knowledge of GD&T, reading engineering drawings, strong communication skills, and strong organization skills with the ability to handle complex projects with multiple objectives.
