Description
We are seeking an Energetics Processing & Motor Final Assembly Technician to support our solid rocket motor business line. As an Energetics & Final Assembly Technician, you will mix and cast solid rocket propellants and perform motor final assemblies. This role requires handling potentially hazardous chemicals, maintaining attention to detail, and adapting to new designs. You will also provide inputs to Manufacturing Engineering on process development, continuous improvement, and work instruction revisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Weigh, dose and mix solid rocket fuel ingredients
- Perform nozzle and igniter assembly operations
- Install igniter and/or nozzle assemblies onto multiple different types of solid rocket motors
- Data collection and data entry
- Clean and reset multiple types of tooling
Required qualifications include 6+ years of experience building solid rocket motors, experience handling dangerous and/or toxic chemicals, and proficiency with reading and using equipment such as calipers, scales, and gages.
Preferred qualifications include experience in chemistry, manufacturing, or similar fields, experience with the aerospace and defense industries, and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
