About this role
We are looking for a UX/UI Design Lead to join our Aladdin UX Design team. As a UX/UI Design Lead, you will be responsible for designing and developing user experiences for the Aladdin investment and risk analytics platform.
About the Aladdin UX Design Team
The Aladdin UX Design team researches and designs the user experience for the Aladdin platform, which is used by institutional wealth managers and investment professionals worldwide. We practice a human-centered design approach, designing software grounded in user need, to enable our users to tap into the power of BlackRock's Aladdin enterprise platform.
Responsibilities
As a UX/UI Design Lead, you will:
- Take ownership of design for a subset of Aladdin's tools used by internal and external users.
- Help develop and implement UX strategies that align with business goals, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Design detailed workflows and prototypes.
- Ensure design is consistent with our UX/UI guidelines and approved interaction patterns.
- Lead the design of user interfaces using participatory and iterative design techniques, including heuristic evaluations, user interviews, usability testing, and other forms of research and discovery.
- Collaborate with key project team members, including UX designers, researchers, product managers, and technology leads to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Create specs and documentation for your designs, working within our design system.
- Be a positive, friendly representative and evangelist for user-centered design.
Requirements
- 5+ years of application design experience in either product or agency environments.
- BFA degree in Visual Communication, Interaction Design, or similar field.
- Expert-level skills in developing UI artifacts such as concepts, UI detailed designs, prototypes.
- Strong skills in working with cross-functional teams, conducting user interviews, and conducting user testing.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock's hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
