Description

About this role

As our IFRS Lead, you will make Mistral AI IFRS-native by owning our transition from French GAAP to IFRS, shaping the financial backbone of one of Europe's fastest-growing AI scale-ups. Reporting to the Accounting Director, you will build our consolidation framework from the ground up, develop scalable IFRS policies, and turn compliance into a strategic advantage for our global expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Group's IFRS transition in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Monitor IFRS regulatory developments and applicable frameworks for external financial reporting.
  • Analyze and document accounting treatments for complex transactions (position papers).
  • Develop and maintain the Group's IFRS policies (Accounting Manual).
  • Implement financial reporting and analysis tools tailored to business needs.
  • Support the reporting process (closing instructions, post-closing events, error tracking).
  • Work closely with external auditors (Big Four or equivalent).
  • Collaborate with statutory auditors for legal compliance.
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports for the Board.

Technical Support & Training

  • Provide technical accounting support to teams, including operational tasks when needed.
  • Prepare and deliver internal technical training sessions.
  • Contribute to the implementation of consolidation processes.

Who you are

  • IFRS Expert (10–12 years of experience): You have a proven track record in IFRS, including experience leading an IFRS transition project (ideally in tech, SaaS, or high-growth environments). You've worked with Big Four firms or equivalent, and you're comfortable interpreting complex standards and documenting position papers for auditors. Your expertise in French GAAP is a strong plus.
  • Project Leader: You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, turning regulatory complexity into clear, actionable plans. You've successfully managed cross-functional projects (e.g., ERP migrations, process harmonization) and can prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Business Partner: A strong communicator, you bridge the gap between technical accounting and operational teams. You simplify IFRS jargon for non-finance stakeholders and build trust by aligning goals across functions (Finance, Legal, IT).
  • Tech-Savvy: You're proficient with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is a plus) and understand how to leverage technology to improve financial reporting. You're hands-on and solution-driven.
  • Proactive & Collaborative: You take ownership of challenges, from high-level strategy to execution. Your mindset is adaptable and positive—you see obstacles as opportunities to innovate.
