Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. As an Application Engineer, you will consult with customers to solve complex engineering problems using Ansys Fluids software and related CAE tools. You will demonstrate the value of Ansys vision and software to sales prospects, actively supporting direct and indirect sales teams to drive growth.
Training customers and internal teams in the effective usage of Ansys simulation products, enhancing their proficiency and independence, is also a key responsibility. You will create and present impactful software demonstrations and novel simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows and support the sales process.
Teaching introductory and advanced training classes on Ansys simulation products, sharing your expertise and fostering knowledge transfer, is another important aspect of this role. Collaboration with Product Development to relay customer feedback and improve Ansys software products and user experience is also required.
Proactively identifying new opportunities and risks by understanding customer workflows and technical needs and communicating these insights into Sales is essential.

To be successful in this position, you will need a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Fluids, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Solid knowledge of CFD and fluid dynamics, hands-on experience with Ansys or other CAE/CAD/EDA/PLM tools, strong problem-solving abilities, and business-level proficiency in Japanese are required.
Preferred qualifications include expertise in one or more of the following areas: aerospace and/or defense industry, experience with Python scripting for automation or application development, experience with AI/ML development or deployment, and experience with other commercial CFD software.

You will also be independent, self-motivated, and adaptable to fast-paced environments, and a collaborative team player who is comfortable working with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.
