Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our Customer Support Engineering team. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning models to improve the customer experience on Airbnb.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, a passion for building scalable and efficient systems, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our product and design teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy machine learning models to improve the customer experience on Airbnb
- Collaborate with product and design teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
- Work with data scientists to design and implement experiments to measure the impact of machine learning models on customer behavior
- Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code that meets Airbnb's standards for scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our codebase
Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering
- Strong background in machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
- Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and distributed computing environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies
- Experience with version control systems such as Git

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Pay Range: $162,000-$186,000 USD
