As a Shift Engineer, you'll carry out all necessary installation, maintenance and operations associated with the entire Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure and associated building services supporting our Data Centre. You'll work 365 Days covered shifts, comprising of 3x 12-Hour Days, 3 x 12-Hour Nights (6 days off) (with 5x18 days break per year).

In this role, you'll:
Work on the operation and maintenance of complex engineering systems, ensuring that work is completed to the acceptable standards within the agreed timescales and with no disruption to IT Services along with resolving operational issues ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure is maintained in support of IT Services.
Implement effective emergency operating procedures to ensure system recovery is achieved with minimum impact to services, escalating and raising awareness as appropriate.
Schedule and manage the planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of engineering systems and infrastructure, whilst ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and to expected quality.
Support the other dimensions of the role include the scheduling and execution of all required infrastructure installations required to support IT Hardware and Equipment.
Improve service quality, by continuously reviewing and enhancing methods of operation and maintenance, effectively utilising tools and system employed with the Group Data Centre.
Ensure current Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements are met by implementing and developing safe working standards and procedures within the department.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Acquired a range of technical skills and experience within an engineering Data Centre environment.
A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service with a flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way.
Experience of supporting others performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support.
Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcome.
Experience of working complex systems.
Experience of Power (HV & LV systems) Drups and UPS Systems, Air Conditioning & water systems.
NVQ IV BTEC HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering would be ideal.
