Description
Omada Health is seeking a Senior IT Engineer, Automation to join our IT department. As a Senior IT Engineer, Automation, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-impact business process automations across Omada's internal systems ecosystem. This role blends hands-on workflow automation with deep stakeholder engagement to solve complex operational challenges across the organization.
You will act as a trusted consultant and thought partner across the business, including People & Culture, Recruiting, Finance, Care Delivery, Support, Security, and Engineering, to intake automation opportunities, lead collaborative discovery sessions, translate abstract requirements into scalable technical designs, and build reliable, well-documented automations using platforms such as Tines and modern API-driven tooling.
In this role, you are expected to own the full lifecycle of automation solutions: from initial discovery and requirements gathering through design, build, testing, launch, and handoff. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, apply strong technical depth, and produce secure, resilient, and well-designed workflows that scale with the business.
Responsibilities:
- Intake, Discovery & Solution Analysis: Lead the intake process by clarifying requirements, gathering context, and translating problem statements into structured technical scopes. Assess the potential ROI on incoming automation requests to ensure the team focuses on the highest-value opportunities.
- Stakeholder Discovery & Facilitation: Lead in-depth discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand existing processes, pain points, and constraints, through whiteboarding and shadowing sessions. Rapidly absorb and model unfamiliar problem spaces, deconstructing ambiguous processes into clear workflow models and candidate automation designs.
- Design, Build & Implementation: Translate requirements and process designs into detailed automation builds across platforms such as Tines, n8n, and API-driven workflows. Integrate SaaS platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven triggers, and structured JSON payloads to create robust end-to-end workflows.
- Launch, Maintenance & Operations: Own the full lifecycle of automation deployments, including testing, launch, hypercare, tuning, and steady-state stabilization. Maintain, optimize, and refactor automations as upstream systems evolve or new business requirements emerge.
- Cross-functional Partnership & Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across Omada, including P&C, Recruiting, Finance, Care Delivery, Support, Security, Compliance, and Engineering, to understand workflows, challenges, and downstream impacts.
What Great Looks Like:
- Is a systems-level thinker who can deconstruct business processes, consult with stakeholders on improvements, choose the best technical path forward, and rapidly implement high-quality solutions.
- Quickly understands complex processes, identifies inefficiencies, and executes solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Is an engaging, collaborative partner who can facilitate high-energy working sessions, synthesize input from many voices, and keep groups oriented toward outcomes.
- Can enter a brand-new domain, quickly build a mental model of the problem space, and sketch out viable automation patterns on the fly.
- Uses patterns and experience to guide stakeholders through alternatives, trade-offs, and 'what if' scenarios, without getting lost in technical detail.
- Delivers high-quality automation designs that are resilient, reusable, and aligned with security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Exercises strong technical judgment, knowing when to keep solutions simple and deterministic and when a more sophisticated or agentic approach is warranted.
- Operates with high autonomy, managing full lifecycle delivery of automations with minimal oversight.
- Builds trust with cross-functional partners through clarity, predictability, and consistent execution.
- Incorporates compliance and auditability into design decisions, aligning with SOX, HIPAA, and security requirements.
- Improves team velocity by producing inheritable workflows and documentation others can easily support.
- Consistently demonstrates senior-level ownership by delivering high-quality solutions independently and driving meaningful cross-functional impact through technical depth and reliable execution.
Candidate Requirements:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development, technical operations, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with automation tools, such as Tines, n8n, or Zapier.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality results.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with security and compliance frameworks, such as SOX and HIPAA.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
