"" Job Title: HWRC Contract Compliance Officer - Waste Management Location: Carlisle, with travel throughout Cumbria Salary: Up to £36,750 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday As a HWRC Contract Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Biffa Cumbria's contractual obligations in relation to the management of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). This will involve regular on-site visits to monitor compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and working closely with our customer and subcontractor to deliver those improvements. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting weekly on-site inspections of contractor operational compliance with the Output Specification and Service Delivery Plans Identifying, reporting, and recording performance failures in accordance with contractual procedures Conducting regular on-site health and safety inspections and liaising with subcontractors and the company's SHEQ department Managing the planned maintenance programme and arranging for reactive repair and maintenance of site infrastructure and plant Maintaining accurate records, including expenditure, maintenance logs, and incident reports Assisting in the review and revision of risk assessments, operational procedures, and service delivery plans Contributing to the production of the monthly monitoring report to our customer Contributing to contractual meetings with our customer and subcontractor Assisting with off-taker audits and contract compliance audits of subcontracted transfer station and landfill operations Requirements: Experience in waste management, either in an operations and/or compliance role Alternatively, experience of working within a SLA-based contractual environment Experience of managing contractors and supervising infrastructure maintenance Highly personable individual with a keen eye for detail and a real passion for driving operational excellence Ability to develop effective working relationships with partners, subcontractors, and customers Highly organized and able to work unsupervised, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards Hold IOSH Managing Safely or other equivalent health and safety qualification Be IT literate and competent in MS Office, Word, and Excel Must have a full clean driving license Benefits: Further opportunity for career development with the local team Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work with a leading waste management company ""
