About this role
The Data Stewardship Team is responsible for ensuring the data needs of BlackRock and the clients of BlackRock Solutions are fulfilled with accurate, complete and timely data.
As an Associate on the Data Steward Team, you will support a growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment. The Fund Data Stewardship Team was established to develop the firmwide fund data ingestion and distribution strategy and operational support models to meet the long-term fund data needs for existing and newly created fund products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Design data engineering solutions to drive scale and automation for establishing governance and oversight on firm and 3rd party Fund Data (iShares, Mutual Funds, 3rd Party funds, SMAs/Models etc.)
- Strengthen relationships to gain business insight and proactively identify Fund Data needs.
- Establish what is standard vs non-standard processes, ensure this is understood by stakeholders. Bring together the appropriate expertise across the firm to attain this goal.
- Demonstrate knowledge of investments, clients, and operational processes to partner with data and operations specialists to develop sustainable solutions for stakeholders.
- Query Management – Resolve internal and external product and data queries in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Distribution Workflow – Manage daily, weekly, and quarterly data distribution workflows, ensuring adherence to defined schedules and controls.
- Onboarding & Change – Partner with stakeholders to support product onboarding and manage data-related changes across the distribution lifecycle.
Knowledge/Experience:
- 5+ years of financial services experience desired
- Degree in Finance, Economics or related field is preferred
- Advanced skills in Excel; Word; Knowledge of Aladdin, PowerBi, Tableau, and Miro is a plus
- Base knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Python or Unix is advantageous
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Consistent track record in delivering on major projects with little oversight
- Strong financial and quantitative abilities, including attention to detail and affinity for data analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment, integrity and discretion
