Description
As a Battery SW Testing Engineer at AVL Research & Engineering, you will participate in the preparation of battery system requirements and specifications, identify and resolve technical problems, and analyze and optimize electrified powertrain systems.
You will validate control algorithms for powertrain and energy management systems, conduct diagnostics and manage communication networks, and utilize Vector CAN tools and Matlab-Simulink for system modeling, simulation, and testing.
Your responsibilities will also include performing data acquisition and analysis to support validation and verification activities, driving innovation by proposing and developing new ideas in collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the improvement of cross-departmental processes in interdisciplinary environments.
You will support HV battery controls and functional safety activities, ensuring development quality and defining respective measures.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Control/Mechatronics/Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, preferably with at least 3 years of experience in battery development or automotive systems.
Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English are required, and German would be a plus.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams are essential.
You should have a good understanding of or interest in lithium-ion batteries, battery system development, battery management systems, electrical components, sensors, and actuators, electrical safety standards and calculations, electric vehicles, electric machines, and power electronics, and automotive powertrain.
