We are seeking an SEO program manager to join our Discoverability and Globalization team, to help set and execute SEO strategy. The SEO program manager will help implement our annual SEO program, with a focus and passion for growing Elastic's brand search visibility, growing our website traffic and conversions, and driving continuous SEO improvements across elastic.co.
You are a subject matter authority in search engine optimization and an excellent communicator who is excited to evangelize and drive adoption of SEO best practices. You understand the nuances of SEO content and are able to use SEO reporting tools to formulate data-driven insights and advise marketing and non-marketing teams on how to continuously improve organic content. You are always learning and are up to speed on AI Optimization trends and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Co-create an Elastic SEO center of excellence with consistent SEO principles, standard processes, and experimentation to guide continuous search visibility and web traffic growth
- Lead the development of SEO strategy for technical elastic.co properties (i.e., Elk stack/platform content, Docs, and Labs)
- Collaborate to build annual goals and metrics with Elastic marketing analytics, technical site owners, and external agencies
- Serve as the SEO authority for new web migrations, web refreshes, redesigns, or other website improvements
SEO Research and Execution:
- Leverage SEO tools to produce in-depth keyword and prompt research and competitive analysis, search intent/behavior research, and recommendations for new technical content (topics, formats, etc.)
- Establish and scale SEO standards and compliance, including, but not limited to, on-page narrative refreshes/rewrites, metadata improvements, copy optimizations, schema markup improvements, meta tags enhancements, cross-linking, etc.
- Provide SEO training to product and engineering teams to improve search visibility for technical organic content
Measurement and Reporting:
- Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits using our SEO tool, Botify, to identify and resolve technical issues impacting elastic.co such as crawl errors, improper canonicalization, page indexation issues, slow page speed, etc.
- Monitor search performance metrics, using Elastic dashboards and/or reports, and host monthly syncs to review and assist stakeholders optimize webpage content, improve user engagement, and identify new organic content opportunities
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience as an SEO strategist (or similar role) in high-tech, B2B software sales, agency, and/or PLG business model
- Experience with SEO and AIO tools like SEMrush, Profound, Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console (GSC), and Google Analytics (GA4)
- Strong analytical skills and experience building and integrating SEO reporting/dashboards in Looker, Google Analytics (GA4), and Botify (or similar tool)
- Project management experience driving SEO improvements (bonus points for experience using project management tools like Github, and Adobe Workfront!)
- Comfortable working on a fully distributed team around the world
- Able to take ownership and lead through ambiguity
- Bonus: SEMRush-certified or technically writing portfolio
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is $128,200-$202,900 USD. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
