Metallurgy Lab Technician

We are seeking a Metallurgy Lab Technician to join our team. As a Metallurgy Lab Technician, you will focus on preparing samples for Cut & Etch, performing destructive and non-destructive testing on production MIG welds, and managing discrepant weld reports.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples for Cut & Etch using plasma cutting, wet saw, polishing, and etching (acid)
• Perform destructive cut & etch testing on production MIG welds, capturing images and measuring weld features using computerized software
• Perform rockwell hardness testing as required
• Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on resistance spot welds and resistance projection nuts/studs
• Manage discrepant weld reports, including emailing and generating data entry and saving reports in Excel

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Two years' general or specific experience in this field desired
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
• Welding and plasma cutting (desired)
