Description
We are seeking an SME for Data Center Commission and Quality. This role demands direct knowledge of data center construction, with a strong focus on MEP systems. Working directly with CoreWeave project coordination members, you will ensure projects across the CoreWeave portfolio are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities include overseeing the installation and testing of components and systems, including mission-critical systems such as generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution equipment, redundancy protocols, and cooling systems such as chillers and CDUs. This is a remote-eligible position with 50% travel required.
Candidates must reside in or near the Northern Virginia, Dallas, Richmond, Virginia, Livingston, New Jersey, or Atlanta, Georgia regions.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate with safety at the forefront of all construction initiatives.
- Collaborate with general contractors, trade partners, and vendors as necessary.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams, facilitating communication during commissioning activities.
- Review all written documentation, commissioning, and quality-related information.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing commissioning plans as needed.
- Assist in coordinating and attending pre-construction commissioning meetings.
- Attend construction progress and pre-installation job-site meetings to gather relevant information.
- Review meeting minutes for necessary revisions and assist in resolving design-intent discrepancies.
- Inspect field installations and witness functional tests; conduct site visits as necessary.
- Witness the execution of commissioning tests.
- Travel to sites, client meetings, and training as required.
- Participate in developing reports that define project progress, problems, and solutions for leadership teams and clients.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) commissioning, with a preference for experience in data centers or critical facility environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure, including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and complex MEP building systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes and industry-standard frameworks, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and ASHRAE.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with industry-standard commissioning software or digital platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high organizational standards and meeting strict project deadlines.
- Self-directed professional with a proven track record of driving complex processes to completion and ensuring accountability across the project lifecycle.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with contractors, clients, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Direct experience in the coordination, commissioning, or quality assurance of electrical and low-voltage equipment.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets company insurability standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and the ability to respond to emergency communications outside of standard business hours as required.
