We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Business Internal Control.
Principal responsibilities:
- Support the senior manager and thematic review team in delivering 1LoD thematic review plan and effectively lead and participate in reviews.
- Ensure that assigned review is executed in an efficient and effective manner, clearly documented, within the given timeline, and in line with 1LoD thematic review methodology.
- Manage the review process of identifying and evaluating risk and assessing the adequacy, effectiveness and compliance of internal controls utilized to contain risks.
- Communicate significant issues to executive and senior management and make appropriate recommendations, supporting business to strengthen the overall control environment.
- Be an effective communicator with good people skills and management skills. Able to clearly communicate the identified issues and associated risks to stakeholders.
- Provide analytical support to the thematic review team to improve the effectiveness of sample selection, testing.
- Lead the execution of ongoing control continuous monitoring activities. Collaborate with Control Owners and stakeholders in business and function units to design and implement effective controls, ensuring sustainable embedment of risk management solutions and on-going monitoring in a timely and robust manner.
Requirements:
- University degree in Business/Banking/Risk Management or related subject OR other relevant qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years’ banking experience, preferably in retail banking operations / banking products, exposures to audit and/or compliance functions/ requirements an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience on the operational risk management, internal control monitoring, related regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Strong managerial skills, written and verbal communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, organisational, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of the business, risks and related controls within areas of responsibility.
- Proficiency in both English and Cantonese.
- Professional certification(s) preferred, e.g., CIA, CPA, CFA.
