Description

We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Food Service Specialist to support xAI's food and beverage operations in an entry-level role.

This position involves assisting with food preparation, customer service, cleaning, and inventory tasks, with flexibility to switch between culinary, hospitality, and support duties as directed by the Hospitality Supervisor or Chef.

The Food Service Specialist will contribute to a welcoming dining experience in our corporate café and breakrooms, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities: Assist with food and beverage preparation, including snacks, meals, and drinks, adhering to xAI's quality and sanitation standards Support the maintenance of clean and organized dining areas, including café spaces, breakrooms, and beverage stations Execute catering functions for meetings and events, including setup, service, and breakdown of various service types Follow proper product rotation and storage practices to comply with Tennessee food safety requirements Assist with stocking routes, tracking inventory, and receiving/distributing products as instructed by leadership Help the team meet time and quality standards set by the Hospitality Supervisor or Chef Setup, maintain, and breakdown daily workstations within kitchen or service environments Provide excellent customer service to xAI employees, addressing inquiries and ensuring accurate order fulfillment Support additional tasks as needed, including dishwashing, porter duties, or restocking supplies

Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 2+ years of experience in food preparation, customer service, or other food service support roles

Preferred Skills and Experience: 1+ years of cooking experience in a professional setting Experience working in a high-volume food service environment, preferably corporate dining Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook) for inventory or reporting tasks Sound understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to take initiative and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Experience working collaboratively in large team settings

Additional Requirements: Ability to carry large heavy items unassisted (up to 25 lbs.) Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 8 hours a day Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
