Character Artist

We're seeking a Character Artist with AAA game development experience to join our team working on an exciting, new and unannounced project. As a Character Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, visually appealing 3D characters, vehicles, and environments for our AAA IP project.

Responsibilities:

• Creation of 3D Character, Vehicle and Environment assets
• Work closely with the Lead Artist to ensure the visual target is met or exceeded
• Work within the engine to preview, iterate, optimize and polish assets to a quality bar and visual direction agreed with stakeholders, while respecting the technical requirements
• Actively participate in technical and aesthetic problem-solving discussions
• Review assets produced by outsource teams and provide technical and aesthetic feedback
• Provide guidance and assistance whenever required to outsourcing vendors
• Maintain a consistent quality of work while staying on schedule
• Help the production team with tasks breakdown, prioritization and assignment among the art team
• Maintain visibility of progress and where areas of production need assistance

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Character Artist on a shipped AAA or high-quality game project
• Strong portfolio demonstrating Character art fundamentals
• Good anatomical and proportions knowledge
• Organic and hard surface modelling
• Able to work from concepts
• Proficiency with modern game engines (Unreal, Unity or proprietary engines)
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and iterate quickly based on feedback
