General Summary:
This position reports to the Model Maker Team Leader or their designee; is located in Castelnuovo Rangone and/or Maranello, Italy. The role primarily involves providing support to model shop operations and to activities related to the wind tunnel, including the transportation of materials to be tested, support with the receipt, storage, and handling of components, quality checks, preparation of parts, and the routine and non‑routine maintenance of equipment and the Formula 1 car model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Support model shop activities, including material receipt, registration, packaging, and shipping.
- Support the Internal Logistics Operator to ensure compliance with delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Availability to perform, on a rotating basis, model shop support activities during weekends.
- Transport materials using company vehicles to support the preparation of components and/or wind tunnel testing activities.
- Occasional support activities in the preparation of components for wind tunnel testing.
- Willingness to carry out quality inspections of components in support of industrialization activities.
- Perform routine inspections and checks on mechanical assemblies or individual components.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including vehicles and tools.
- In some cases, the use of a personal vehicle may be required, particularly for business travel or transportation activities, with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Provide support in assisting with the resolution of mechanical, electronic, and logistical issues.
- Support the model shop in the activities required to inspect and prepare the model for wind tunnel testing.
- Take part in the preparation of parts to be tested in the wind tunnel.
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Model Maker Team Leader or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
- A high school diploma with a technical specialization or equivalent is required.
- Category B driving licence required.
- A minimum of prior experience as a workshop mechanic and/or model maker for the wind tunnel is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and electrical drawings.
- High level of precision, reliability, and results‑oriented approach.
- A reasonable working knowledge of the English language.
- Knowledge of key automotive systems and mechanical equipment.
- A reliable and flexible attitude.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
- Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
- Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.

Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional domestic, and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
