Firmware Engineer, Embedded Systems

We're seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our team based in Costa Mesa, CA. As a key member of our firmware team, you'll contribute low-level firmware development for systems operating on land, sea, and air. You'll work closely with Electrical Engineering to develop hardware and software solutions to some of the hardest problems facing our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers
• Creating reusable device drivers
• Integrating system-level features and architecting changes to support an ever-growing codebase
• Owning complex firmware features of an embedded system
• Quickly debugging and troubleshooting issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
• Helping select microcontrollers and peripherals and reviewing schematics with electrical engineering team
• Concurrently managing involvement in multiple projects at various stages

You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, including microcontrollers, analog and digital sensors, and common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
