Description
The Subscriptions Mission team at Spotify builds and evolves the systems that help listeners discover, try, and subscribe to Spotify. As a Backend Engineer on this team, you will design and architect backend systems that power new user-facing features across the subscriptions journey. You will collaborate closely with mobile engineers and cross-functional partners across Product, Data Science, User Research, and Design. Your responsibilities will include building, deploying, and maintaining scalable services with a focus on high availability and low latency, taking ownership of services in production, including monitoring, reliability, and participating in an on-call rotation, contributing to technical direction and improving system architecture to support long-term scalability, and supporting and mentoring engineers on the team.
You will have experience building backend systems using Java and be comfortable working across modern backend technologies. You will have strong computer science fundamentals and experience developing complex, distributed systems at scale. You will have worked with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS and understand how to design cloud-native architectures. You will be experienced in designing and developing APIs and systems in collaboration with stakeholders. You will be comfortable working across cross-functional teams and able to independently drive projects forward.
