The Apex Legends team is looking for a Lead Technical Artist - Environments to help shape the ways we build worlds and assets. This role touches a wide variety of expertise including tools, procedural systems, asset construction, lighting and material systems, performance optimization, and landscapes. This is a forward-looking position focused on modernizing our worldbuilding pipelines, bringing new efficiency and capabilities to our art team and broadening the expertise of our Technical Art department.
As a Lead Technical Artist - Environments, you will interpret high-level creative direction for the Apex Legends franchise from the lens of worldbuilding and build technical solutions to hit our goals. You will assess current worldbuilding pipelines against future-looking goals, establish a vision and roadmap, and then lead your team on execution. You will work closely with artists and engineers to deeply understand our proprietary technology and unique product requirements.
Ideally, you will have 12+ years of professional game development experience, demonstrated ability to lead teams and multi-disciplinary projects, a diverse range of experience working in multiple aspects of worldbuilding, experience working in proprietary game engines and tools, and an understanding of the technical constraints for shipping products on a wide variety of platforms and hardware capabilities.
