About this role
BlackRock's Product Tax team oversees tax planning, tax reporting, and tax regulatory compliance for all BlackRock products. The team works closely with key internal stakeholders, including Business Operations groups, Portfolio Management, Legal, and Securities Lending groups. The team regularly engages with BlackRock's external custodial service providers and is responsible for administration and oversight of services as they relate to custody taxation.
Purpose/Background:
Based in Budapest, the individual will report to a Product Tax member and be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of certain Global Product Tax documentation, compliance, and reporting activities, working across all Product types. The individual will also work closely with the Global Product Tax Policy teams, custodians, and third-party advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ongoing monitoring of external custodial documentation reporting and ad-hoc documentation requests to address maintenance of critical BlackRock fund tax documentation. Develop escalation protocols to resolve time-sensitive documentation issues.
- Facilitate production, execution, recording, and transmittal of tax-critical documents to custodians and third parties as required.
- Assist in ongoing maintenance of various Tax data points within BlackRock's Aladdin platform.
- Complete periodic reconciliation of fund tax rate entitlements and reporting classifications in BlackRock systems against custodial systems and/or administrator systems to ensure alignment.
- Take the lead in certain projects, to improve processes and efficiency, which can be global in nature.
- Drive performance through identification and use of technology solutions to the Product Tax processes.
- Administration of other regular and/or ad hoc MIS reporting as required.
- Role will require interface with global colleagues, so will require the ability to work flexible hours on occasions.
