Description

We are looking for a qualified individual to join our Advanced Safety Controls (ASC) Division as an ADAS Test Engineer. The successful candidate will support the advancement and integration of driving assistance and vehicle dynamics control technologies working towards the future of electrification and advanced safety in Honda and Acura products.

As a member of our team, you will take ownership of developing a function or feature on the vehicle to suit the North American light duty market customer. You will work under the leadership and guidance of senior members in the group to build your knowledge and technical skills with autonomy as you gain experience.

Your key accountabilities will include verifying ADAS control system software function by completing standard requirement testing on simulation bench and in vehicle by proving grounds. You will also validate ADAS system by completing standard requirement testing on simulation bench and in vehicle by proving grounds.

In addition, you will support with preparation of verification test result documentation for assigned function and clearly present documentation to Section Chief, Technical Expert and Chief Engineer at data verification reviews. You will continue to submit all necessary information as the development process moves forward.

You will also support with management of one or more devices in vehicle development projects specifically related to ADAS system specifications, actively maintain schedule and task list including internal, Japan R&D, and other function group schedules to ensure all expected deliverables are complete at each development milestone.

You will correlate with Technical Expert, Section Chief, or experienced PIC to support the integration of software functions into the vehicle, as well as verification of the function.

You will develop own expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. You will gain or maintain external professional accreditations where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. You will build proficiency in relevant technology and increase knowledge of external regulations and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist publications.

You will support with identifying shortcomings in system specifications through market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and other research activities. You will suggest solutions to improve the overall product to the customer from these activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Co-op/intern experience. They will have 6+ years of relevant experience if no degree.

They will have basic understanding of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures or micro controller communication structures. They will have familiarity with control specification development.

They will have demonstrated analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot control system issues, propose and implement potential solutions.

They will have hands-on mechanical ability/understanding of vehicle systems and cross-functional interactions.

They will have strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other technical software).

They will have experience with data acquisition systems such as Vector CAN tools.

They will have some travel domestic and internationally to visit various proving grounds, visit suppliers' engineering offices and production locations and support Honda factories during pre-production launch timings.

They will have a valid driver's license to operate vehicles on proving grounds.
