Description
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team and drive the development of mission-critical systems powering our AI platform and products : AI Studio, Le Chat and Mistral Vibe.
You will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership to build high-impact scalable systems while growing and guiding a high-performing engineering team. On average, our team leads are responsible for teams of about five people for a specific product, owning both execution and delivery while remaining hands-on with code.
You will split your time dynamically between individual contribution and leadership, with the balance shifting as your team grows. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and ship features that directly impact our users and business.
You will be responsible for creating a strong team culture, setting clear processes, raising the engineering bar and ensuring consistent high-quality delivery.
This is a highly critical role at the intersection of product engineering infrastructure and people. You will help shape how our engineering organization works, how we build at scale and how we turn cutting-edge AI research into reliable production-grade systems used by millions of developers and end users.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the clear point of contact for your team and its projects. Remove obstacles, unblock execution and create an environment where engineers can focus on building impactful high-quality products.
- Own the delivery of your team’s roadmap and ensure projects are shipped with the right level of quality reliability and performance. Keep the team accountable for results and maintain strong execution momentum.
- Partner closely with Product Managers to define the roadmap and priorities of your team. Scope initiatives, estimate engineering effort and drive prioritization decisions based on business and technical impact. Keep the whole team involved and engaged in the product direction.
- Stay deeply involved in architecture design, system design, coding, peer reviews and technical decision-making. Lead by example and remain connected to the day-to-day challenges of the team.
- Define and evolve team processes, best practices and execution rituals with the team. Ensure they remain relevant as the team and product scale.
- Challenge engineers to step up, take ownership and grow beyond their comfort zone. Increase the team’s bus factor through knowledge sharing, documentation and rotation of responsibilities.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant professional work experience.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Golang.
- Experience with building and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience with working with cross-functional teams like product, design, business, etc.
- Experience with project management and planning.
- Ownership and capacity to ship products end-to-end.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Low ego and team spirit mindset.
- Autonomous and self-starter.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Platform & DX products (API, SDK, Tooling, Observability, Billing, etc.).
