Description
As the Engineering Manager for Search Management at Elastic, you will be responsible for managing a globally distributed team of Java engineers working on search functionality within Elasticsearch. Your goal will be to lead the efficient delivery of search enhancements with regular releases of Elasticsearch, ensuring high quality and innovative feature development.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and mentoring a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software
- Collaborating with product managers to define requirements and develop roadmaps
- Fostering a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and consensus-based decision-making
- Building and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams
To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience leading distributed teams of software engineers, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

If you have significant experience as a hands-on software engineer, experience working in Lucene or Solr, open-source experience, prior professional exposure to Elasticsearch, and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, you will be at an advantage in this role.
In terms of compensation, this role has a base salary with no variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is $128,300-$203,000 CAD.
