We're looking for a seasoned, registered architect to take ownership of how we design, permit, and build the industrial environments that bring our autonomous surface vessels to life.

As an Architect – Infrastructure, you'll have full-cycle ownership across capital projects at our industrial and port facilities. You'll bring deep expertise in occupancy classifications, code compliance, and hazardous materials requirements to bear on real problems , and you'll do it alongside a team of engineers, designers, and builders who care deeply about getting it right.
Responsibilities:
- Own the development and maintenance of building architectural design and construction standards for the company.
- Own the building permitting process for capital projects including development of a permitting plan and acting as key POC for local AHJ’s.
- Participate in the early programming and development of various capital project scopes of work and documentation of project requirements with a focus on architectural systems and design elements as well as occupancy and code compliance paths.
- Support development and issuance of requests for proposals and qualifications for various capital projects to 3rd party engineers, architects, design-build contractors and general contractors.
- Review and comment on 3rd party architectural and building designs for capital projects and provide owner-based subject matter specialist (SMS) input and direction to internal and external teams.
- Provide internal design, and documentation on small capital projects as needed.
- Complete field visits during capital construction projects to represent owner and observe general civil/site installation and commissioning activities.
- Design management of small capital projects as needed.
- Travel anticipated to be up to 10% of the time for project-specific visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Architecture, or a related field.
- Registered architect.
- 8+ years of design, and/or construction of buildings for industrial, manufacturing, and/or port facility projects.
- In addition to experience with general building design and development, you must have experience/knowledge with various code and permitting requirements including assessing F, H, and S occupancies, specialty requirements from NFPA, experience with development of HMI’s, and applications for code variances for industrial buildings.
- Proficient in developing design standards, technical project requirements documents, requests for proposals. Experience with completing 3rd party design reviews and directing engineering, production and construction teams.
- Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing innovative solutions to a broad range of permitting and building design problems and challenges Broad experience in coordination with and knowledge of MEP, Civil, FP, and structural design elements is preferred.
- Experience with the entire capital project life cycle.
- Design management experience preferred.

- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies.
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages).
- Can safely travel and visit active industrial sites and active construction projects on an occasional basis.
