Description
We are seeking an exceptional senior accountant to join our accounting team. As a senior accountant, you will be responsible for analysing and reconciling balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring transactions are properly accounted for in our financial systems. You will also work closely with members of the accounting team and throughout the business to improve cross-functional processes and the related system solutions. You will be an instrumental part of creating and maintaining the policies and procedures needed to scale our organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute complex areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and all accounts are reconciled accurately.
- Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
- Own the execution of month-end close cost allocation processes, partnering with Accounting and Finance to design and refine scalable methodologies for allocating shared and indirect costs between cost of revenue and operating expenses.
- Perform detailed reconciliations and analysis of assigned balance sheet accounts, particularly those requiring complex judgment (e.g., accrued liabilities, intercompany balances).
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Support audit requests and ensure documentation is organised and complete.
- Identify and implement workflow and system improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Collaborate on the development of policies and procedures as we scale our organisation
- Manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation and build strong cross-functional relationships across the organisation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial documents and contracts
- Ability to think critically about transactions and suggest out of the box solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong MS Office skills (pivot tables, xlookups, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
