Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities and potential applications for AUV technology within the commercial and defence landscape.
  • Develop and champion innovative approaches to AUV design, development, manufacturing, and deployment.
  • Oversee all aspects of the program lifecycle, from concept and design through development, testing, production, and fielding.
  • Establish and manage program budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective execution.
  • Implement robust project management methodologies and best practices to drive predictability and accountability.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and challenges.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, program managers, operations specialists, and other subject matter experts.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight to engineering teams, ensuring the development of robust, reliable, and cutting-edge AUV solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the AUV and naval warfare space.
  • Champion a culture of rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Anduril program teams, engineering disciplines, manufacturing, supply chain, and legal departments.
  • Ensure seamless integration of AUV capabilities with other Anduril platforms and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in defense program management, with a significant focus on complex, hardware-intensive, and software-enabled systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering large-scale, multi-year programs, ideally in the defense sector.
  • Proven track record of success in managing programs involving autonomous systems, unmanned vehicles (especially AUVs), or advanced naval technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and a strong understanding of software development lifecycles.

Bonus Points:

  • Direct experience with AUV development, testing, or operations.
