The team is responsible for handling liability claims on behalf of various insurers. Your role will be to provide a quality claims service on behalf of the insurer and handle claims from start to finish. The case load will include primarily claims in excess of the fast track limit of £25,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish if cover is in place for the claim
- Record all claims on the digital claims handling system
- Investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters
- Make decisions on liability
- Negotiate settlement of the claim
- Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs
- Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
- Authorise payments to defined limits
- Act as a mentor and coach to junior colleagues

- Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
- Strong technical knowledge across various Casualty claim types and UK jurisdictions
