Description
WSP is seeking a Part-Time Asbestos Project Monitor for our New York, NY office.
As an Asbestos Project Monitor, you will act as the company's asbestos technician representative during asbestos abatements in designated work spaces across various industry sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor final air clearance during asbestos abatements.
- Collect PCM and TEM air samples, record chain of custodies, daily logs, and maintain involvement in project oversight and result reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws regarding asbestos abatements.
- Travel throughout New York City, State, and Long Island is required; reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and good driving record are necessary.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
Requirements:
- High school graduate.
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights and weekends.
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license required.
- Pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10-hr/30-hr Construction Certificate.
- Updated Fit Test and Medical Testing documents.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER.
- Licenses such as NYS DOL Project Monitor, NYS DOL Asbestos Sampling Technician, or OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health.

- Expected salary: $55,400 - $91,300
