Description
As a Customer Delivery Driver at Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd in Sunderland, Tyne And Wear, United Kingdom, you will be responsible for delivering customer orders to their doorsteps. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy and organised, and communicate with customers regarding their orders.
The role involves:
- Delivering groceries to customers on time and in great condition
- Completing checks on the van and ensuring customers' shopping is secure
- Following planned routes and driving safely in various locations
- Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to properties
- Communicating with customers and handling queries or changes to orders
- Assisting across the store as needed when not making deliveries
Requirements include:
- Being friendly and welcoming with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers
- Being comfortable driving a larger vehicle safely in different locations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical and high-energy environment
- Using initiative, solving problems, and making safe decisions while on the road
- Enjoying independent work while being part of the wider store team
- Flexibility and willingness to work across the store and take on new challenges
- Confidence in learning to use route and delivery technology
