Description
Leidos is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program team. The TFDM system aims to improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion by providing NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to enhance air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The successful candidate will work as a member of a dynamic team, performing testing in physical and virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer present. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing procedures to verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NAS
- Coordinating activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnel
- Debugging system-level issues and providing detailed supporting data on identified issues
- Analyzing identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software to develop solutions
- Developing innovative and automated solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborating with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirements
- Conducting testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer when required
- Performing formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizations
- Integrating services with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs
- Demonstrating test execution to the FAA on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance of the content per release
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6+ years of professional experience; or 4+ years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
- Strong experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems and troubleshooting connection/network configurations
- Expertise in scripting (Python, shell scripting, Bash) for data processing, issue analysis, and system integration
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML-enabled systems, automation, or intelligent platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers
The salary range for this position is $87,100.00 - $157,450.00.
