Distribution Engineer

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers in Southern Louisiana who are passionate about electric utility design engineering. As a Distribution Engineer, you will perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers, develop work packages for various projects, and work with clients to ensure high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects
• Work with other engineers and design leads on client issues
• Review engineering design packages with clients
• Perform scope analysis and maintain schedule adherence
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and field engineering design requirements
• Be comfortable in both field and office settings

Requirements:

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred)
• Background in and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
• Knowledge of structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
• Ability to provide reliable transportation
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with MicroStation for electrical distribution design
• Familiarity with work management software and job estimating software
• Knowledge of CAD tools

Salary Range: $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
