Industrial Hygienist, BlueOval Battery Park Michigan

Responsibilities

• Develop the BOBM Industrial Hygiene Programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Ford Motor Company Health and Safety Standards.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive industrial hygiene risk and exposure assessments plan.
• Manage projects performed by consultants to evaluate potential risks, including development of sampling plans, acceptance of proposals, scheduling of work, and oversight of project budgets.
• Partner with a 3rd party consultant to develop, implement, and monitor the local Process Safety Management Program.
• Interpret results of evaluations, report conclusions, and evaluate effectiveness of control measures from employee exposure assessments.
• Interface with Ford Motor Company Corporate Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Toxicology teams.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the local Toxicology process.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety or related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Language proficiency in English.
• Understanding of industrial hygiene-related risks, exposure monitoring techniques, and hazard control methods relating to chemicals, noise, lasers, radiation, confined space, drinking water, respirator protection, heat stress, and knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
